Grenache
Wine
Willunga 100 Wines Grenache draws from the estate Blindspot Vineyard at Blewitt Springs. The old bush vines grow in deep sandy soils over ironstone and clay.
The fruit is fermented in stainless steel open fermenters, some with a small whole bunch inclusion. After around 10 days on skins, the wine is gently basket pressed and transferred to seasoned French oak.
Malolactic fermentation occurs in barrel, followed by 10 months of maturation on fluffy lees. The wine receives no fining prior to bottling.
Dark purple, Willunga 100 Wines Grenache has red fruit flavours supported by warm spice, dusty tannins and fresh acidity. Cellaring potential is six years.
